Smyrna TV was recognized nationally at the 33rd annual Government Programming Awards, which was held Aug. 30 in Philadelphia.
The awards program honors excellence in broadcast, cable, multimedia and electronic programming produced by local government agencies.
Smyrna TV was honored with the first place award in the Edited Community Event Coverage Category for “Independence Day Celebration 2017” by the National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors (NATOA). Smyrna TV also received an honorable mention in the same category for “Special Olympics State Golf Championship 2017.”
The Town of Smyrna’s award-winning local Government Television Channel televises live/taped public meetings as well as other programs about the Town’s departments. Smyrna TV can be viewed in Smyrna on Xfinity, Channel 3. Live web streaming and archived videos are available online at townofsmyrna.org.
