"Look on beauty, And you shall see 'tis purchased by the weight; Which therein works a miracle in nature, Making them lightest that wear most of it" -Shakespear
I was drawn recently to accept nature's invitation to see and experience the beauty of her tapestry. A gift she does not flaunt, but instead, freely offers its presence as a sanctuary, for rest, renewal and promise, for the grace of this day and our one precious life.
To honor the gift of solitude in our lives, is what becomes fertile soil for grounding in our lives and for all of its circumstances; its joys as well as its sorrows, what it gives and what it takes.
Ignoring the gift of solitude, may, in exchange, compromise our energies, for attending to the loves of our lives. It is worthy, therefore to honor, "these candles our bodies, that burn, with the ability to give warmth and comfort to anything that comes close. Like a lasting piece of art, this spirit, a flame, born in each of the created, is that which can ignite inspiration and hope and survive times ways." (Hafiz, revised)
The past few weeks have been overwhelming for all of us and our world. This piece is simply a reminder, to care for ourselves and each other. We are each other's greatest gifts.
