The 15-year-old victim in a shooting at the Baymont Inn & Suites in late February has died, according to police detectives.
The teenager suffered significant injuries and died on Monday, March 8.
Charges for the shooter, 18-year-old Deshawn Wells, are expected to be upgraded to homicide.
Wells is still in jail at the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center on a $150,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on July 22.

Patrol officers responded to a shooting call shortly before 11 a.m. Sunday and discovered the 15-year-old had been wounded inside a hotel room at the Baymont Inn & Suites on Armory Dr.
The 15-year-old was taken by helicopter to a Nashville hospital where he is listed in critical condition.
The victim and four others, both adults and juveniles, were inside the second-floor hotel room when the shooting occurred.
Investigators are still trying to determine the motive behind the shooting.

Wells remains in custody at the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center on a $150,000 bond. A court hearing is set for July 22 in Rutherford County General Sessions Court.

One male victim ended up in the hospital following a shooting Sunday morning at a Murfreesboro motel, according to a press briefing frome the Murfreesboro Police Department.
The shooting occurred around 10:53 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 28 at Baymont Inn & Suites on Armory Drive in Murfreesboro.
One male victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment; his condition is unknown.
Detectives are trying to determine how and why the victim was shot. No further information at this time.
