Murfreesboro very own Laureates show "The Other Side: Contrasts in Our Community" is a must see!

The laureates found a way to collaborate and use their skill to bring a show together that the community will not only enjoy but be inspired and walk away with a new perspective.

The Laureates had their opening show Thursday, June 28 in the Rotunda at City Hall.

Photographer Laureate Jessica Nelson showing “Unity” with overlapping images that tell their own story is a powerful piece that sparks a conversation that our community is so in need of and puts a whole new meaning to a “New Perspective” and raises awareness on the ideals of unity in our community.

Poet Laureate Kory Wells writes the walls with her poem “because no place is perfect” sits next to “Unity” highlighting, Murfreesboro Loves a community action against hate.

Painter Laureate Ginny Togrye bridges the gap with our community with “Bridge Builder,” a painting of the construction of the famous Murfreesboro bridge “Bridgey McBridgeface.”

The exhibit is up in the Rotunda of City Hall here in Murfreesboro. The exhibit dates are from June 26 to Aug. 3.

If you have not seen the exhibit I urge you to check it out. This is an exhibit by local artists who have created a show just for our community.
