A week after a fight ended in one man stabbing another to death in Murfreesboro, a second similar fight is being investigated by the Murfreesboro Police Department.
Only this time, the victim is in critical condition.
On Saturday, Aug. 10, at approximately 7:25 p.m., Murfreesboro Police officers responded to a call of a fight in Old Fort Park.
Upon arrival, officers found Martin Kobe, 61, suffering from multiple stab wounds.
He was treated on scene by Murfreesboro Fire & Rescue Department personnel and Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services who then transported to Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital for transfer to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
The investigation on scene revealed a physical altercation had occurred which resulted in Kobe being stabbed.
The suspect, Joshua Kolwalski, 35, of Murfreesboro, was apprehended at the scene and was booked into the Rutherford County Sherriff’s Department charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault. He is being held under $50,000 bond.
Kobe remains in critical condition at this time.
