UPDATE: Murfreesboro Police search for suspect in Highland Avenue shooting

Shooting at College Grove Apartments

Murfreesboro Police Department Violent Crimes Unit issued a bulletin about a subject wanted for questioning in a shooting Friday morning at College Grove Apartments near MTSU campus.

MPD detectives want to speak to Amin Abdulqani Kosar, 19, in connection with to an Especially Aggravated Robbery. Warrants are on file with Rutherford County Sheriff’s Department.

The suspect fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle after shooting the victim multiple times. He was last seen in a 2012 Black 4 Door BMW 535 displaying Tennessee Registration 2G4-9K3. The vehicle has a purple David Lipscomb sticker in the rear window and a “thin blue sticker” on front and rear bumper.

He was last seen around 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7 at his mother’s residence in Nashville.

The suspect should be considered armed and dangerous.

Earlier

At approximately 9 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7 Murfreesboro Police dispatch received an emergency call and MPD officers responded to the scene of a male victim with gunshot wounds, located at North Highland Avenue and Eventide Drive in Murfreesboro. 

The victim, identified as 18-year-old Abanob Saad, was flown by Vanderbilt LifeFlight where he is being treated for his injuries.

The victim was able to provide information to officers indicating that the shooting occurred at College Grove Apartments on Old Lasscassas Highway. Investigators responded where they located a crime scene.

The Murfreesboro Police Personal Crimes Unit is aggressively investigating this case. Police are looking for a four-door black 2012 BMW in connection with the shooting with License Tag No. 2G49K3.
