A Murfreesboro woman was arrested Monday afternoon, Oct. 29 after stabbing an acquantence in the neck, according to an arrest report from the Murfreesboro Police Department.

The incident began innocently enough, seemingly, according to the police report.

Elsa Crafford, pictured above, and Matthew Burchell were at his apartment on Bradyville Pike when she offered to give him a massage, the report said.

Under questioning, Crafford admitted to asking Burchell "to get undressed and she would give him a massage. After the victim got undressed, she stated he laid down on his stomach and she got on top of him and then she stabbed him one time with a knife in the neck," the report said.

Crafford then allegedly fled the scene and was involved with a single-vehicle accident on New Salem Highway near Jackson Ridge Road where she was apprehended.

MPD was called around 4:30 p.m. to attend to Burchell, who was treated at the scene. His condition is unknown.

Crafford, 27, of Penn Court was arrested and charged with attempted first-degree murder. She is currently being held in the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center on $250,000 bond.
