Long-time development specialist Lindsey Fournier has joined the Discovery Center at Murfree Spring as vice president of Philanthropy, the hands-on children's museum announced.

"We are thrilled to have Lindsey as a part of the Discovery Center team," said museum President and CEO Tara MacDougall. "She brings deep knowledge of the philanthropic world, along with a proven track record of success in development in a wide range of settings. We're excited to see what the future holds for the museum and our community with Lindsey's great skills and passion for serving."

Fournier leads the museum's fundraising and development efforts, connecting the generosity of individuals and corporate sponsors with critical community outreach and educational programming offered by the Center. This includes field trip scholarships, memberships for economically disadvantaged families, special-needs programming, Nissan Cultural Community Days, after-school STEM workshops, and much more.

Before joining the Discovery Center, Fournier was a professional healthcare representative for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals. Prior to that, she worked as the development coordinator for the Saint Thomas Rutherford Foundation. She received a bachelor's degree in marketing and management from UT-Knoxville and is a graduate of The Webb School.

Fournier's community involvement includes serving on the Discovery Center Advisory Board, the State Interagency Coordinating Council for Tennessee’s Early Intervention System Board of Directors, the Charity Circle of Murfreesboro 2019-2020 Ugly Duckling Ball Chair, and the Murfreesboro City Schools Foundation Board. Lindsey was the recipient of the inaugural ATHENA Young Leader Award in 2016 and was nominated by RutherfordCABLE.

Fournier is the proud mother of Amelia and Ruby, ages 8 and 11. Some of her fondest memories are those spent at the Discovery Center with her daughters. It provided a safe environment where hands-on play was encouraged, which inspired curiosity and exploration while being together as a family. In her spare time, she most enjoys riding her bike on beautiful Rutherford County backroads, running the greenway, and cooking for her family.
