Middle Tennessee women's basketball standout Alex Johnson has been named one of 14 C-USA Winter Spirit of Service Award winners, as announced by C-USA Commissioner Judy MacLeod.
The C-USA Spirit of Service Award recognizes the community service efforts of the league's student-athletes, based upon significant public service, good academic standing and participation in their selected sport. The Spirit of Service Award is presented three times throughout the year, with today's honorees representing winter sports.
Not only is Johnson dedicated to her team and her studies, but also to service. Johnson has volunteered with the Special Olympics, United Way, We Haul and National Reading in Schools Day during her collegiate career.
On the court, Johnson etched her name in the Lady Raider record books as she ended her career ranked in the Top 10 of nine different all-time categories, including scoring, games started and field goal percentage.
Johnson will graduate in May. Her major is Bio Chemistry with a Pre-Pharmacy emphasis.
