The Woman's Club of Murfreesboro is hosting its second annual Legacy Gathering fundraiser to preserve their historic house located at 221 E. College Street in Murfreesboro. This event is being underwritten by The Villages of Murfreesboro.

The fundraiser is set to be held from 5-9 p.m. July 20 at The Tasty Table, 215 N. Church St. in Murfreesboro. This event will also celebrate 103 years of the Club’s continued ownership and use of the historic Woman’s Club House. The beautiful Italianate style home was built in 1856 for Dr. William T. Baskette and his wife, Helen M. Crichlow Baskette. The Woman’s Club opened the first lending library in Rutherford County at the home with over 2,000 books collected. The home is on the National Registry of Historic Places.

Doors will open at 5 p.m. Food will include a small plate and dessert bar. In addition, wine, beer and soft drinks will be included. Music will be provided by Tara Syester and Friends.

Tickets will be $60 with $50 going directly to the Historic Preservation Fund. Tickets may be purchased through eventbrite.com.

The Woman’s Club is a 501[c][3] Public Charity. Additional information is available on Facebook and on the Club’s website.
