'Firefighters for Food' drive

Smyrna Fire Department's 18th annual "Firefighters for Food" food drive is underway.

Smyrna Fire Department "A Shift" personnel will collect non-perishable food donations this Saturday, November 16th, 9-4 p.m., at WalMart, 570 Enon Springs Road, Smyrna. Items collected will benefit Nourish Food Bank.

In addition to collecting food donations, SFD will provide fire prevention education and tours of various apparatus. "We look forward to providing education to our community while collecting donations for such a worthy cause," noted SFD Chief Bill Culbertson. "Our personnel are eager to give back to the community we have the privilege of serving every day."

"Firefighters for Food" has collected over 316,000 items since its inception in 2002.
