Murfreesboro Police find dead (body) in apartment on North Tennessee Boulevard

A 23-year-old man was found dead Sunday, Aug. 9 in a Murfreesboro apartment complex after a report of shots fired brought police to the location, according to a statement from the Murfreesboro Police Department.

Officers responded to The Pointe at Raiders Crossing Apartments on North Tennessee Boulevard, in reference to shots fired call at 6:42 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 9.

The victim was found shot to death inside an apartment.

The victim, identified as Breunte Jaylon Combs, was found by his roommates. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by personnel with Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services.

There was no suspect on scene when officers arrived.

Detectives are trying to determine what happened. It is unknown if the death is related to the gunfire that was reported.
