Drs. Mary and Max Moss join an exceptional group of civic leaders to be honored by The City Schools Foundation in Murfreesboro for their support of public education at the 11th Annual Excellence in Education Gala on January 26, 2018. The Moss family advocates for education and has supported the Foundation since its inception in 2005.
Former honorees include John Floyd, Ed and Andrea Loughry, Tommy and Jeannie Bragg, Dr. Sidney and Elizabeth McPhee, Dr. Susan Andrews, John Hood, Rhea Seddon and "Hoot" Gibson, Gloria and Ted LaRoche, Joyce Taylor, and Bart Gordon.
Dr. Mary Moss is a partner with Tennessee Women's Care and Dr. Max Moss is a partner with MidState Radiology. The Mosses are passionate supporters of the community with a focus on education and health care. Max was one of the founding members of The City Schools Foundation and served on the Foundation board for numerous years. The Mosses have three children, Elizabeth, Tripp and Jared, all of whom attended Murfreesboro City Schools.
"Mary and I are honored to be the 2018 City Schools Foundation Honorees. The Foundation does so much for Murfreesboro's elementary school students and teachers," says Dr. Max Moss.
Reservations for the Gala are now available. Individual tickets may be purchased for $250 and sponsorships begin at $1,500.
The event will spotlight Reeves-Rogers Elementary. Reeves-Rogers is home to over 400 students and is located adjacent to MTSU on Greenland Drive. Dr. Kimberly Osborne, Principal and Sia Phillips, Assistant Principal serve as the administrative team for the school.
Most recently, The City Schools Foundation gave over $52,000 to Murfreesboro City Schools in the form of teacher grants. The Foundation will also give over $20,000 this year to schools for parity grants.
The gala will be held at MTSU's new student union center featuring a Mardi Gras themed party complete with a jazz ensemble and a Beale Street attitude. Sandra Parks serves as chair for the 2018 Gala.
The City Schools Foundation, is a group of civic and business leaders banding together to benefit Murfreesboro City Schools' pre-Kindergarten through sixth grade students.
