Strike & Spare announced the grand opening of its new locations will be Oct. 14, according to a Facebook post.

The newly renovated 52,000-square-foot bowling alley features 26 lanes, bumper cars, laser tag, roller skating, an arcade, virtual roller coaster, and full bar and grill with a meat-and-three lunch.

To celebrate, the bowling alley will offer a special at all 14 of its Strike & Spare locations, including the new one in the old Sears at Stones River Towne Center.

The center has a schedule for events and/or bowling leagues, check its website prior to arrival to check for lane availability.

Pandemic plagues Nissan sales

The global pandemic continues to plague Nissan's sales.

According to the Franklin-based automaker's third quarter sales report, it only sold 221,150 units, a decrease of 32.4 percent versus the prior year from July-September.

There were a few highlights with sales of the Nissan Versa up 24 percent, GT-R sales up 14 percent and an increase of 9 percent for Kicks.

Smyrna-made models didn't have such a good quarter. Sales of the Altima, Maxima, Leaf, Pathfinder, Rogue and Infiniti QX60 all saw plunging sales. The worst being the Maxima, which saw a 57.8 percent drop. Overall, sales of Nissan cars fell 45.8 percent and trucks decreased by 31.6 percent.

Nissan isn't alone. According to the Associated Press, new vehicle sales in the U.S. plunged 9.7 percent in the third quarter. The good news is September sales saw a slight improvement of 4.8 percent and the nearly 10 percent drop is quite an improvement from the 31 percent decline seen in the second quarter when most of the world was in quarantine.

Hopefully the global economy will recover soon.
