The Dollar General at 532 W. Northfield Blvd. was robbed by two men, one with a gun in his pocket, around 11 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, according to a report filed with the Murfreesboro Police Department.
The clerk who was working at the time told police “two males entered the store and began yelling at her to 'open the cash drawer. They kept yelling until it opened,” MPD Officer H. Richards reported.
The subjects grabbed cash from the drawer, placed it in a cloth bag and fled the scene.
A second witness said she saw a handgun in the pocket of one subject's hooded sweatshirt.
The suspects were described as a 5'9” black male, aged 20 to 30 years and a Hispanic male.
No one was injured in the robbery.
Multiple cars burgled in Cason Lane area
In an unrelated incident, Murfreesboro Police Officer Richard Presley was on patrol when he noticed the driver's side front door was open on a vehicle on Calydon Court off Cason Trail.
The owner looked and found nothing missing from the car.
“(He) did not want a report. I filed this report anyway due to the amount of vehicle burglaries in this area,” Presley wrote.
According to incident reports filed with MPD, at least seven vehicles on Calydon Drive, Debonair Drive and Victory Gallup Court were broken into and ransacked overnight Tuesday, Nov. 14.
Only a wallet was reported missing.
MPD's Criminal Investigation Division is investigating.
