Sammy Kershaw, Collin Raye, and Aaron Tippin, collectively known as Roots & Boots, are playing their first show together at the Ryman on July 31st.

The trio, who are the brainchild of Sammy Kershaw, started playing together more than ten years ago when initially Joe Diffie held the spot now occupied by Collin Raye. The show is a collaborative event to celebrate 90s country music, with all three on-stage together using one band, trading hit songs and stories.

They have been playing sold-out shows across America for years but have never had the chance to play the Ryman as a trio.

For those who love nineties country music, Kershaw, Raye, and Tippin share the stage as they perform fan favorites like “She Don’t Know She’s Beautiful, “Third Rate Romance,” “Love, Me,” “That’s My Story,” “You’ve Got to Stand for Something,” and “Where the Stars and Stripes and Eagles Fly,” to name a few.

And while each has major hits from the 1990s, they individually have a unique sound. Tippin explained, “That was the thing about the '90s. If you sounded like the last guy, you didn't get no record deal. That ain't how it worked. He had to have a unique sound and be able to either pick a hit or write a hit.”

And while those of us who have been around for a bit are already admirers of the guys, many of the younger generation are fans as well.

Tippin concurred, “Every night when you see some 20-year-old kid singing one of your old hits that was out there before he ever was born, man, that’s a big thrill. Especially, from a songwriter's point of view, that's as good as it gets.”

The trio has amassed more than 40 Top 10 radio smash hits and sold more than 25 million albums. Don’t miss these iconic country artists as they come together to swap stories and perform their classic songs all on one stage.

In addition to playing the Ryman, Sammy Kershaw, Collin Raye, and Aaron Tippin will be bringing their Roots & Boots Tour to locations across the South and Midwest. Check here for additional listings.
