So I can't choose this week. It's a close tie between Sweet Girl and Reminiscence
Both of these films have a story with a plot twist that steals the entire film. Both have leads that are hunka-hunka, and both are filled with action friendly family fun (over 13) night adventure evenings. Have your popcorn ready, and don’t leave to go tinkle in the middle, you will miss something BIG.
Are they headed for the Oscars? Probably not, but who cares about the Oscar’s? It is a fashion evening, not a film night evening.
In Sweet Girl, a devastated husband (Jason Mamoa) vows to bring justice to the people responsible for his wife's death while protecting the only family he has left, his daughter (Isabela Merced).
In Reminiscence, Nick Bannister (Hugh Jackman), a private investigator of the mind, navigates the alluring world of the past when his life is changed by new client Mae (Rebecca Ferguson). A simple case becomes an obsession after she disappears, and he fights to learn the truth about her.
Additionally, both of these films have scores that are interesting enough to invite one to mimic on their favorite instrument or device, even if one plays badly like me.
These films are action films with great stories, and Sweet Girl has amazing girl power and Reminiscence has Hugh Jackman.
Bravo to the writers for creating something different and enticing. It is about time.
