Jefferson Springs boat ramp closed after boating incident, missing boater

Jefferson Springs Recreation Area and Boat Ramp located off of W. Jefferson Pike in Smyrna on J. Percy Priest Lake are closed to the public following a boating incident with one boater missing.

Multiple agencies are on scene including Rutherford County Fire Rescue, Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office, Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services, Rutherford County Emergency Management Agency, and Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA).

The incident occurred just before 11 a.m. It is unknown how long the area will be closed to the public.

TWRA is the lead investigating agency.
