Visitation and memorial service arrangements for Detective Lt. Kevin Stolinsky, who has been promoted posthumously, have been released. The visitations will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 16, and Wednesday, Nov. 17 with the memorial service to follow.

Stolinsky died Friday afternoon, Nov. 12 while on duty from a medical incident.

The City of La Vergne asks the community to visit and pay respects to Detective Lt. Stolinsky outside of Police headquarters. His police department vehicle is positioned stationary, draped with a blue line cloth just as you enter onto city property to the left at 5093 Murfreesboro Road.

On Tuesday, Nov. 16 at approximately 10:30 am Detective Lieutenant Stolinsky will be escorted along with his immediate family down Murfreesboro Road in front of  La Vergne Police Department and La Vergne City Hall. This will provide an opportunity for all La Vergne city employees as well as citizens within our community the opportunity to pay their respects.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Kevin Stolinsky Memorial Fund at any First Horizon Bank location. Donations can also be accepted at La Vergne Police Dept at the Records Division during normal business hours M-F.

All proceeds donated will be forwarded to charities that he passionately supported.

The visitation will begin at 4 p.m. on Nov. 16 and continue through 8 p.m. at Life Point Church located at 506 Legacy Drive in Smyrna. Visitation will continue at Life Point Church on Wednesday, beginning at 11 a.m. Visitation will end at 1 p.m. when the memorial service begins. Following the service, bagpipers and pallbearers will escort Stolinsky outside where his family will be presented with flags. There will be a 21-gun salute, followed by taps.

Please note that City of La Vergne buildings will be closed beginning at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17 through the remainder of the day.

The funeral procession will leave Life Point Church and escort Stolinsky to the Roselawn Funeral Home and Memorial Garden, located at 5350 N. W. Broad Street in Murfreesboro.

Please continue to keep the Stolinsky family, La Vergne Police Department, and the La Vergne Community in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
