If you're like me, you've been hiding under a blanket over the holidays and not kept up with local goings on.

In your time of need, Murfreesboro Voice is here to help. Here are the top five stories you probably missed over the past week or so.

Police in Idaho are looking for help in Murfreesboro

The Murfreesboro Post reported the remains of a woman found in February 2016 in Idaho have a Murfreesboro connection.

The remains of Christine Lott were discovered in a wooded area of Kootenai County. Lott's husband Stephen Lott is a resident of Murfreesboro.

Christine Lott was reported missing in 2004.

Anyone may have had information about the Lott family or information about this investigation are asked to contact Major Crimes Detective Jerry Northrup with the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office at 208-446-1351 or by using the anonymous tip form on its website.

Rob Lyons, Karl Durr disagreed over firing MPD officer

Two of Murfreesboro's top exes disagreed in September over how to handle disciplining Murfreesboro Police Officer Eric Renfroe for “unethical conduct,” according to an article by crack reporter Scott Broden.

According to Broden's story in the DNJ, “Lyons agreed with a peer Disciplinary Review Board in deciding officer Eric Renfroe should get a written reprimand for use of profanity involving a DUI arrest Dec. 22, 2016, a 10-day suspension without pay, a one-year disciplinary probation, and remedial training in police ethics, according to a Sept. 12 letter to Renfroe from the former city manager.”

But former Police Chief Karl Durr wanted to fire Renfroe for the complaint that also ccused the officer if using excessive force and refusing medical aid to a suspect.

Durr's letter on the subject called Renfroe's actions “problematic” and “demonstrates callousness.”

According to the city, Renfroe was given a 10-day suspension without pay and remains on the one-year disciplinary probation.

Durr resigned a little more than a month after the disagreement and Lyons has since left the city's employment.

There was no word about whether the incident led to the departure of Durr or Lyons.

Former Blue Raider leads NFL in interceptions

Shocking everyone, the Tennessee Titans actually made the playoffs this season.

The team's annual late-season meltdown was abruptly halted with the help of safety Kevin Byard, a former MTSU Blue Raider, when he hauled in his second interception of the game on Sunday.

The ballhawk finished the regular season with eight interceptions, tying Detroit's Darius Slay for the most in the league.

Byard may be one of the best in the league, but he was left off the Pro Bowl list for this year. That's OK, Raiders are used to being underestimated. And there's always next year.

WSMV cans longtime anchor

If you tuned into WSMV the Channel 4 News recently looking for Demeteria Kalodimos, you were sure to be disappointed.

Kalodimos told the Nashville Scene she was told by the station that her more than 30 years anchoring the evening and nightly news at Channel 4 was over.

"I have spent more than half of my life at WSMV, working long and unpredictable hours, winning awards and ratings, serving and understanding the community and building trust. It is quite sad to end a nearly 34-year career the way this company chose to end it, with a letter left on a desk, no conversation, no face to face meeting, no thanks,” she told the Scene.
