A lot has changed for Lewis Brice since I last featured him and his debut album, Product Of, in March 2024. His daughter, Rhaelynn, was born in April, completely changing his life.

“She’s just a beautiful, little sweet baby angel,” the doting dad asserted.

Now he is writing and recording new music, but when he was sent “She Loves My Country,” he knew he had to cut it.

The song is a remake of Puddle of Mudd’s “She Hates Me.”

Brice explained, “What they did is take the music to the song ‘She Hates Me,’ they wrote a more uplifting version called ‘She Loves My Country.’ My producer played it for me, and since I was in the process of recording this new music and new record, I was able to listen to it. And he just played this song out of the blue because he thought it would fit me.”

The song hit him, “right on the head.”

After contacting Puddle of Mudd’s Wes Scantlin and Jimmy Allen to get permission to use the melody from the original song, Ben Simonetti, Cody Lohden, and Rob Pennington rewrote the song. Brice was fortunate to be the one to record “She Loves My Country.”

She Loves My Country” is an upbeat tribute to a woman who lives and breathes country life. With Brice’s signature soulful vocals and a lingering melody, the song paints a vivid picture of a girl who loves country music, small-town living, and the simple joys of Southern life.

While Brice is a prolific songwriter in his own right, he was drawn to this song because, even though he is country to the bone, it has a bit of rock and roll, which is “right in my vein of music.”

“It’d be a shame to miss a good song, because of pride, that you’re not a writer on it,” he stated.

Currently, Brice is in the midst of writing/cutting new music. It is usual for a songwriter's music to evolve just as their lives do. That is especially true with country music.

“The songs that I put out are all about my life. And any song that I release, I try to relate it close to where I'm at in my life,” Brice explained.

He teased two upcoming songs. "You Don't Know You Know" is about people telling you how it’s going to be, but until you actually go through it, you don’t really know.

The other song Brice mentioned was “NASCAR Fast,” which is about life passing you by in the blink of an eye.

Both of these songs are related to his new experience of being a new dad. Anytime Brice releases new music, you know it will be well-crafted and meaningful.

Lewis Brice will be on tour this summer, including performing at the Tennessee River Jam on June 7th in Paris, Tennessee.
