Tangerine Salon and Spa, in partnership with area salons, presents United We Style, an elevated hair show and storytelling event, on Thursday, June 21 at Main Street Music in downtown Murfreesboro.

Using the Beatles-inspired theme of “Come Together Now,” UWS will feature stylists from Tangerine, What's New Salon, Rooster's Men’s Grooming Center, and The Social Chair creating hairstyles live on stage as professional storytellers and community leaders perform short stories based on their community involvement and life experiences. Local musician Jonny Gowow will provide the night’s musical stylings.

Featured storytellers include Kara Kemp, actress and Ringmaster of Tangerine Salon, and Kory Wells, inaugural poet laureate of Murfreesboro and founder of Poetry in the Boro. Presenting community leaders include Ynetia Avant, principal of Kittrell Elementary; Chase Salas, agent for Elite Insurance Solutions; and Kathy Ferrell, executive director of Red Cross Heart of Tennessee Chapter.

Mark Lamb returns to United We Style for the second time as a featured storyteller and storytelling mentor.

Hailing from Sturgis, KY, he resides in New York City as a choreographer, performer and storyteller. He is a six-time storytelling slam competition winner at the Peabody Award-winning Moth storytelling series and the 2016 Grand Slam champion for the state of Kentucky. Lamb's show "A Boy and His Dolly" was sanctioned by Dolly herself as an official event for the Dollywood Foundation and has toured in many forms throughout the U.S.A and internationally.
