Members from the Rutherford County Fire-Rescue Department, Murfreesboro Fire & Rescue Department and other Tennessee agencies were sent to South Carolina to aid in swift water rescues from flooding because of Hurricane Florence.

RCFR assisted a local fire department in Dillon, S.C., with rescues. Using a drone they are able to locate submerged or trapped vehicles in flooded areas that are hard to reach.

In Bennettsville, S.C., the members of the MFRD assisted with evacuating 33 people, 7 dogs, and rescued one person who is wheelchair-bound.
