The Tennessee Fisher House Foundation was recently presented a donation from The Exchange Club of Murfreesboro. The Tennessee Fisher House is a "home away from home" for families of Veterans undergoing treatment at the Alvin C. York VA Medical Center in Murfreesboro.
Guest are housed in one of the 12 suites in the 10,000 square foot house. Rooms are secured and contain lodging with television and a computer.
Meals are provided by the Tennessee Fisher House. There is a library, entertainment room dining room, washer/dryer, front porch, back patio with a grill, a gazebo and plenty of parking. In the case of inclement weather or guest not having the ability to walk to the VA Medical Center, a golf cart is available for shuttle to and from the facility.
Those using the Tennessee Fisher House must be referred by the Social Worker at the VA Medical Center. Lodging is then coordinated with the House Manager Becky Wood. There are some "distance requirements" for guests using the facilities. The Tennessee Fisher House is not a "motel" as there must be a connection with the VA Medical Center.
