The Charity Circle of Murfreesboro recently announced its 2021-2022 board of directors. Patti Hutchinson has taken the gavel as President from outgoing president Anne Davis.

Hutchinson, a former educator in the Murfreesboro City School system, most recently led Charity Circle’s Special Projects Committee, which recommends funding to local agencies as well as develops benefactor relationships.

“The Charity Circle of Murfreesboro was able to grant more than $400,000 last year to local agencies, with a focus on food, clothing, shelter, and medicine insecurities,” said Hutchinson. “Our new board of directors represents a talented group of women, and I am honored to lead such a historic and meaningful organization.”

In her volunteer role as President of Charity Circle, Hutchinson will lead the organization in partnership with its board of directors. The 2021-2022 board members are:

Patti Hutchinson
Anne Davis
Kathy Huddleston
Joan Kellermann

Amy Farrar
Kristin Demos
Beth Binkley
Libby Long Taylor
Pam Kious
Mary Francis
Malinda Kidd

“The funds raised by the Charity Circle of Murfreesboro, through one of our ‘caroling parties’ or our signature event, the Duck Ball, are invested right back into our local community,” said Hutcinson.

Charity Circle grants funds quarterly to nine ongoing agencies: the Child Advocacy Center, Community Helpers of Rutherford County, the Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Center, Doors of Hope, Good Shepherd Children’s Home, the Ann Campbell Early Learning Center, Nourish Food Bank, Special Kids Therapy and Nursing Center, and The Journey Home.

Charity Circle members have already been hard at work preparing for this year’s fundraising efforts, with modified plans due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. This year’s Duck Ball, typically held in April each year, is expected to be held in late summer or early fall.

The first Charity Circle event of the year will be a Valentine’s Luncheon. This year’s event will be virtual, and those who make a contribution of $25 or more by February 10th will be invited to pick up a pan of iced brownies, tied with a festive red bow, between 11 AM and 2 PM on Friday, February 12th at 926 East Main Street.

Check or cash donations for the Valentine’s Luncheon may be sent to Rebecca Upton, 630 South Church Street, Suite 300, Murfreesboro, TN, 37130. Online donations may be made at www.charitycirclemboro.org/donate-online, or donations may be made via text message by texting CCValentine to 41444 for a link to donate.

The Charity Circle of Murfreesboro is a women’s organization founded in 1910 whose fundraising efforts benefit the basic health and welfare needs of families in Murfreesboro. For more information about Charity Circle, please visit www.charitycirclemboro.com.
