Easter is this weekend and that means lots of fun around town, but it also means opening season for one of the city's best family attractions-- Lucky Ladd Farms! The state's largest petting zoo and Ag-adventure destination has been busy adding even more attractions and events for visitors this year, so get ready to head over for some serious fun on the farm.

Check out these four more things to see at Lucky Ladd.

1. Some Bunnies to Love

Just in time for Easter! "Right away guests will see at least one new animal exhibit with bunny babies," says farm owner Amy Ladd. She says the weekend is the perfect time for guests to meet them, and as the bunnies grow options for petting and feeding will be offered. 

Already love the farm's animal babies? Later this spring a new animal barn will be constructed, housing more bird varieties and expanding the tortoise habitat. And DEER are coming to the farm! A new fenced area will add deer to the stops for petting and feeding.

2. Exciting Events

Easter weekend is full of seasonal fun at the farm-- from the non-stop egg hunts to breakfast with the Easter Bunny-- but go ahead and plan to be wowed each month with new happenings. Unicorn fans won't want to miss the Magical Unicorn Meet N' Greet April 10 as a "spell" is cast over the farm's ponies! Annual event favorites like the Kids Construction Day and Watermelon Festival are also still expected to be on tap for this year. 

But who says kids should have all the fun? Lucky Ladd is adding to the number of adult events on the farm, creating an after-hours series where the 21 and older crowd can enjoy libations and food on the farm with music and special offerings. Keep an eye out for Strawberry Sunset Evenings this spring and Sunset Sunflower Picnics this summer. (Can't wait? 3. Smaller Crowds, Bigger Experience

While COVID disrupted the farm's operations last year, there were some creative lessons learned. Besides the increased cleanliness and availability of hand sanitizer, as well as social-distance signage on the farm, guests may notice that crowds still seem a little smaller during their visit. That's intentional, and according to Ladd, a good thing. "We're keeping timed-ticketing in place," says Ladd. "We found that smaller crowds created a much more pleasant experience for our guests." Think shorter wait lines, less crowding at play stations, and greater peace of mind.

Walk-up guests are still welcome at the farm, but online purchases are strongly encouraged in order to secure admission- and prevent a wait at the gate. There's also a discount: Online tickets begin at $12.99 per guest, while walk-up tickets begin at $14.99. Guests can save up to $6 purchasing the Ag-Venture tickets online, which include a souvenir cup with animal feed, a pony ride, and a bag of Gem-mining rough.

4. More Surprises

"I think people are most surprised about how much there actually is to do on the farm," says Ladd. "You really can spend an entire day here and still not see everything." And the surprises will keep coming!
