Tennessee Fisher House honors Military Ministry at Murfreesboro's First United Methodist Church

The Military Ministry of First United Methodist Church Murfreesboro has been recognized as the “Volunteer of the Year” by the Tennessee Fisher House Foundation Inc.

Colonel Thomas Hickerson, USAF (Retired) was presented a plaque for display at First United Methodist Church. The presentation was made by Tennessee Fisher House Board Member General Lou Ferraro, USAF Reserves (Retired).

The Military Ministry is also recognized on a plaque hanging at the Tennessee Fisher House located on the grounds of the Alvin C. York Veterans Administration Medical Center on Lebanon Road in Murfreesboro.

The First United Methodist Church Military Ministry has been a long-time supporter of the Tennessee Fisher House by preparing or providing meals for House Guest as well as purchasing supplies from the “Wish List” and has made financial contributions.

Tennessee Fisher House is a “home away from home” for families of Veterans or Active Duty undergoing treatment at the VA Medical Center. By proving lodging, dining, laundry, and much more – the loved one is saving money and being close to their loved one. Love is the best medicine. The rooms are suites with a private bath, security, kitchen, living room, and more.
