First United Methodist Church (FUMC) of Murfreesboro was founded in 1821, meeting first in private homes.

FUMC has grown through the many years and has seen many locations, the old building on Church street serving parishioners for many years. Easter Sunday 2003 the doors opened on the new facility on Thompson Lane with grounds for continued growth and expansion.

The facility and membership are now large, but one thing has not changed with time, this church still feels like family, and all are welcome.

First United Methodist Church is celebrating 200 years of community through Christ’s love, this Sunday, Sept. 26 with special events and worships services, as well as a community dinner in the CAMP meeting style at 11:30 am. Food is provided, and dessert is “Bring enough to share” as we get to know new friends and reunite with old ones.

Please register for this event at Anniversary Dinner on the Grounds - First United Methodist Church Murfreesboro (churchcenter.com).
