The sound of sleigh bells is growing louder as the time approaches for Santa to land his sleigh in front of Middle Tennessee Christian School. He will once again be the honored guest at the Rotary Club of Murfreesboro at their 16th Annual Hotcakes and Holly fundraising breakfast on Saturday, December 8th.
“Parents will be able to take pictures of their child with Santa,” said Rotary Club of Murfreesboro President Melissa Cassidy.
The Hotcakes & Holly Breakfast will take place from 7:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Tickets are only $8 for the breakfast. Tickets can be purchased through Rotary Club of Murfreesboro members or at the door.
Included within the ticket price will be live entertainment from Johnny B and the Balladeers, Middle Tennessee Christian School choir, and actors from Center for the Arts. And there will be lots of pancakes, sausage, cinnamon rolls, and orange juice served up by members of the Rotary Club, and their youth programs, Interact and Rotaract.
This year, Rotary is joined by volunteers from Read To Succeed, one of the organizations that the club supports. The club has chosen to put their main focus on literacy.
“This fundraiser allows our Rotary club to give to many local organizations,” said Cassidy. “Besides Read to Succeed, we support Southeastern Young Adult Book Conference, and our annual Dictionary Project, where we give every third grader in Rutherford and Cannon Counties their own dictionary.”
“Nothing says Christmas likes pancakes,” said event coordinator John Hinkle. “It is a great time for the community to come together and get the Christmas Season started.”
Murfreesboro Noon Rotarians are your friends, neighbors, and community leaders united for the common good at home and globally. The organization has six areas of focus: promoting world peace, fighting disease, saving mothers and children, supporting education, and growing local economies. The Rotary Club of Murfreesboro will turn 100 years old in 2019. Rotary International has a distinguished history of more than 114 years and is one of the oldest civic clubs in the world.
