Students celebrated the new school year and helped out Murfreesboro City Schools when they ran, walked or hopped one mile around the Gateway Island Saturday, Aug. 10.

Registration fees were collected as school supplies.

Every finisher received a Murph's Fun Run medal. The school with the most participants will receive $500.
