The Rutherford County Coalition Against Child Abuse has partnered with the Child Advocacy Center for the International 19 Days of Activism Campaign to promote the prevention of child abuse.
According to the Children's Advocacy Centers of Tennessee, every hour of every day, there is allegation of child abuse in Tennessee and nearly 700,000 children are abused in the U.S annually.
“Child abuse is a problem that exists in every community, so we must be diligent in our efforts to protect children” said Rutherford County Coalition Against Child Abuse President, Brittnie Noble.
The Rutherford County Coalition Against Child Abuse is a multi-disciplinary organization that meets monthly to discuss the systemic response to child abuse cases. The mission of the Coalition is to provide education and promote community services toward the prevention, identification, and treatment of child abuse.
The Coalition is made up of members from the Department of Children Services, District Attorney's Office, Murfreesboro Police Department, Smyrna Police Department, LaVergne Police Department, Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Center, Murfreesboro City Schools, Rutherford County Schools, The Family Center, MTSU Childcare Lab, and many more local agencies. Together we work to reduce violence toward children in our community.
