It isn't strange to see a man walking toward you with a zipped up hooded sweatshirt this time of year. It is strange when he has on a ski mask but no pants. At 8 o'clock in the morning.
This is the scene that met a Murfreesboro woman Tuesday morning, Dec. 12 when she was returning to her apartment on West Thompson Lane after taking her children to school, according to an incident report from the Murfreesboro Police Department.
The woman told police “the man began to walk toward her and she noticed he did not have any pants on. … As he was walking toward her with his pants under his arm, he began to pleasure himself,” the incident report said.
After the encounter, the man then fled the scene. Police were unable to locate him but advised the apartment complex manager to be on the lookout for pants-less men.
Stolen golf cart found at Safari Inn
Two alleged golf cart thieves couldn't agree on who's idea it was to take someone else's golf cart and drive it to the Safari Inn, according to an MPD arrest report.
MPD officers were responding to a separate service call at the Pilot gas station on South Church Street when the night manager reported that a golf cart had been stolen from the station.
A short time later, a patrol of the area discovered the golf cart at Safari Inn.
When the officer stopped to investigate, the two individuals standing next to the cart ran and hid behind the Safari Inn.
One of subjects, Ashley McDaniels stopped. McDaniels told officers that she when to the gas station to meet Lewis and he suggested they take the golf cart back across South Church Street, according to the report.
The other individual, Alan Lewis, tried unsuccessfully to evade police. Once he was in custody, Lewis told police the pair walked over to the gas station together.
He claimed McDaniels suggested they steal the golf cart “and have some fun. He states that's when they got on it and drove to the Safari Inn,” the arrest report said.
Even though they couldn't agree on who's idea it was, the officers agreed both should be arrested.
McDaniel and Lewis were charged with theft over $1,000 and evading arrest. They were booked into the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center.
